Surprisingly enough, iSuggest was born in a pet store. Or at least the idea for it was!

Owner and creator Johnny Warwick was trying to find a hard-to-get food for his pet pooch and was blown away by the service one particular pet store gave him. They rang manufacturers, tracked down suppliers and specially ordered the food he needed – all off their own bat. It was this dedication and great service that made him realise there are a lot of great small business out there that do a fantastic job – and yet no-one knows about them. And so the idea for iSuggest was born.

iSuggest is an online directory of Australian businesses that is driven by reviews. The better a business’ rating and reviews, the higher it’s listing on the site. But who reviews? The people who matter most – customers. Customers can go online and write reviews businesses as they wish. If the business they want to review isn’t listed yet, they can add or ‘suggest’ it. And the more reviews, and the higher the ratings a business gets, the better it will be ranked.

So what’s the benefit of iSuggest? It’s twofold. Businesses get the chance to ‘spread the word’ about their benefits, increase their web presence and direct traffic to their websites. While customers get the chance to get recommendations about different businesses from the best possible source – word of mouth.
